DPR - Dynamic Print Routing
Overview
What is DPR?
DPR (Dynamic Print Routing) is the Newest Innovation in “Pull Printing” technology. With DPR you can use your mobile device to release your print job when and where you need it. Implementing DPR in your organization will:
• Enhance Mobility
• Promote Security
• Save Money
• Boost Productivity
• Enhance Accountability

Enhance Mobility
Capella’s “Pull Printing” technology means that you can output your print jobs anytime, anywhere. Suppose you print
a handout for a meeting, but you don’t have time to pick it up on your local printer. No problem. With DPR, you can simply use your iPhone, Android or other mobile device to “pull” the job to the printer outside the conference room. The whole process is as easy as taking a picture.
Promote Security
Suppose you’re sending a confidential document to the printer. With DPR, you can use your mobile device for security “authentication”. Simply, select your print job and release your document all from your mobile device. No more worries about sensitive print jobs being viewed by unauthorized parties while you rush to pick them up.
Save Money
Often individuals will send a document to a printer, forget that they sent it and send it again. With DPR, print jobs
won’t output until you’re at the printer ready to pick it up. It’s good for the environment and good for your organization’s bottom line.
Boost Productivity
In a traditional network printing set up, you have to specify a printer when you send your print job. But suppose you sent a print job to the color printer on the fourth floor, before realizing that you’re going to be passing a different printer on the first floor on your way to a meeting. DPR lets you “pull” the job to whichever network printer is most convenient, even after you’ve already printed. What if you decide that you need more than one copy? With DPR, you can print additional copies – even days later – without having to waste time resending the job to the printer.
Enhance Accountability
DPR helps your organization track how its printing resources are being used. When a job is output, basic information about the job – printer or mfp device, color vs. monochrome, number of pages, user information... – is recorded and reported back to your IT staff. This helps your IT staff plan for future expenses, track printing costs and excessive use back to specific parties and manage your printing resources more effectively.
